New Zealand Is in the Midst of a Five-Month-Long Earthquake

It's the strongest earthquake to hit the region in 150 years says The New Zealand Herald, "but none of the locals are diving under desks or sheltering in doorways."

What's happening near Wellington is that that same amount of energy, and the same amount of movement of the Earth's surface, is being spread out over months and months.

It's still a magnitude 7 earthquake, it's just a gradual one.

EU, Japan, South Korea Shun US Wheat After Unauthorized GM Find on US Farm

The European Union is urging its 27 member states to test certain wheat shipments from the United States after unauthorized genetically modified grains were found on a U.S. farm, officials said Friday.

The move came after Japan halted imports Thursday of some types of wheat from the U.S. following the discovery of an experimental strain that was tested by Monsanto but was never approved.

Monsanto is a ticking time bomb for U.S. agriculture

As the USDA has now admitted, Monsanto's GMO experiments from 1998 -2005 were held in open wheat fields.

The genetically engineered wheat escaped and found its way into commercial wheat fields in Oregon (and possibly 15 other states), causing self-replicating genetic pollution that now taints the entire U.S. wheat industry.

Asia imports more than 40 million tonnes of wheat annually, almost a third of the global trade of 140-150 million tonnes.

The bulk of the region's supplies come from the United States, the world's biggest exporter, and Australia, the No. 2 supplier.

ObamaCare To INCREASE Individual Health Insurance Premiums By 64-146%

One of the most serious flaws with Obamacare is that its blizzard of regulations and mandates drives up the cost of insurance for people who buy it on their own.

This problem will be especially acute when the law's main provisions kick in on January 1, 2014, leading many to worry about health insurance "rate shock."

Angela Braly, then-CEO of WellPoint, testified before Congress about allegations that its California unit, Anthem Blue Cross, was raising premiums on some customers by more than 30 percent.

Last week, California announced that the Affordable Care Act would increase non-group insurance premiums by as much as 146 percent.

Seafloor 'Breathing' Could Help Forecast Big Earthquakes

By deploying data-collecting ocean-bottom seismometers, marine researchers can keep track of small earthquakes created by the flow of the tides in the deep ocean.

These small earthquakes are triggered by the expansion and contraction of the seafloor with the tides, which happens on a daily basis.

"The seafloor is almost breathing with the tides," said Maya Tolstoy, a geophysicist at Lamont-Doherty Earth Observatory here in New York.

Tolstoy thinks these "tidal-triggering" events, if tracked effectively, could help marine researchers get a better sense of when the next big, tsunami-causing earthquake could happen.

NASA Tracking 1998 QE2, a Large Near-Earth Asteroid

Approaching Asteroid 1998 QE2 Has Its Own Moon

A sequence of radar images of asteroid 1998 QE2 was obtained on the evening of May 29, 2013, by NASA scientists using the 230-foot (70-meter) Deep Space Network antenna at Goldstone, Calif., when the asteroid was about 3.75 million miles (6 million kilometers) from Earth, which is 15.6 lunar distances.

The radar imagery revealed that 1998 QE2 is a binary asteroid. [It has a moon!]

In the near-Earth population, about 16 percent of asteroids that are about 655 feet (200 meters) or larger are binary or triple systems.

Radar images suggest that the main body, or primary, is approximately 1.7 miles (2.7 kilometers) in diameter and has a rotation period of less than four hours.

Also revealed in the radar imagery of 1998 QE2 are several dark surface features that suggest large concavities.

The preliminary estimate for the size of the asteroid's satellite, or moon, is approximately 2,000 feet (600 meters) wide.

Operator: Thank you for calling Pizza Hut. May I have your national ID number?

Customer: Hi, I'd like to place an order.

Operator: I must have your NIDN first, sir.

Customer: My National ID Number, yeah, hold on, eh, it's 6102049998-45-54610.

Operator: Thank you Mr. Smith. I see you live at 1742 Meadowland Drive, and the phone number is 494-2366. Your office number over at Lincoln Insurance is 745-2302 and your cell number is 266-2566. Email address is Which number are you calling from?

Customer: Huh? I'm at home. Where'd you get all this information?

Operator: We're wired into the HSS, sir.

Customer: The HSS, what is that?

Operator: We're wired into the Homeland Security System, sir. This will add only 15 seconds to your ordering time.

Customer: (sighs) Oh well, I'd like to order a couple of your All Meat Special pizzas.

Operator: I don't think that's a good idea, sir.

Customer: Whaddya mean?

Operator: Sir, your medical records and commode sensors indicate that you've got very high blood pressure and extremely high cholesterol. Your National Health Care provider won't allow such an unhealthy choice.

Customer: What?!?! What do you recommend, then?

Operator: You might try our low-fat Soybean Pizza. I'm sure you'll like it.

Customer: What makes you think I'd like something like that?

Operator: Well, you checked out 'Gourmet Soybean Recipes' from your local library last week, sir. That's why I made the suggestion.

Customer: All right, all right. Give me two family-sized ones, then.

Operator: That should be plenty for you, your wife and your four kids. Your 2 dogs can finish the crusts, sir. Your total is $49.99.

Customer: Lemme give you my credit card number.

Operator: I'm sorry sir, but I'm afraid you'll have to pay in cash. Your credit card balance is over its limit.

Customer: I'll run over to the ATM and get some cash before your driver gets here.

Operator: That won't work either, sir. Your checking account is overdrawn also.

Customer: Never mind! Just send the pizzas. I'll have the cash ready. How long will it take?

Operator: We're running a little behind, sir. It'll be about 45 minutes, sir. If you're in a hurry you might want to pick'em up while you're out getting the cash, but then, carrying pizzas on a motorcycle can be a little awkward.

Customer: Wait! How do you know I ride a bike?

Operator: It says here you're in arrears on your car payments, so your car got repo'ed. But your Harley's paid for and you just filled the tank yesterday.

Customer: Well, I'll be a #%#^^&$%^$@#

Operator: I'd advise watching your language, sir. You've already got a July 4, 2003, conviction for cussing out a cop and another one I see here in September for contempt at your hearing for cussing at a judge. Oh yes, I see here that you just got out from a 90 day stay in the State Correctional Facility. Is this your first pizza since your return to society?

Customer: (speechless)

Operator: Will there be anything else, sir?

Customer: Yes, I have a coupon for a free 2 liter of Coke.

Operator: I'm sorry sir, but our ad's exclusionary clause prevents us from offering free soda to diabetics. The New Constitution our country started using in 2014 prohibits this. Thank you for calling Pizza Hut!

Hezbollah, Iranians Fighting Rebels in Syria

Syrian Rebel Gen Selim Idriss claimed that more than 7,000 fighters of the Lebanese Shia movement were taking part in attacks on the rebel-held town of Qusair.

The US State Department has demanded that Hezbollah withdraw its fighters from Syria immediately.

More than 50,000 residents were trapped in the town and a "massacre" would occur if it fell, he added.

He also said he had received information that Iranian fighters were involved in the offensive.

Free Energy Is An Absolute Imperative For The Future Of The Earth And Humanity

The global ecological crisis demands radical changes in the way in which we use energy.

Traditional renewable approaches such as solar, wind and biomass are attractive but can be capital and materials intensive, diffuse and intermittent.

My own research and travel reveals an increasingly large number of experiments suggesting that we might be able to obtain clean and abundant energy from the vacuum or from low energy nuclear reactions (cold fusion.)

But these results fly in the face of conventional physics.

"The resistance to a new idea", Bertrand Russell said, "increases as the square of its importance."

Through the ages, perhaps no idea is more important or more maligned than that of perpetual motion or free energy.

Inventors rarely lead easy lives, but those dedicated to the quest for free energy have met with especially great resistance.

We look at the sagas of Nikola Tesia, T. Henry Moray, Bruce de Palma and Stefan Marinov as examples spanning this past century.

We can research and vet all the energy options we want and we can even try to do this job honestly, but none of this will matter unless we can effect political action at many levels.

Were going to need to know the truth and find ways of acting on it constructively.

We must search for a public context to introduce solution energy for all.

In my opinion, the prospects of free energy depend entirely on the success of an altruistic democracy that is longing to be born.

Hackers could annihilate US utilities and unleash havoc on infrastructure

A cyber war attack on a city's critical infrastructure could be devastating, and surprisingly easy to launch.

It's a new breed of warfare, unlike anything you've ever seen.

It can threaten a nation's core security, cause mass casualties and weaken the economy, according to the Government Accountability Office, the US Congress' research arm.

Assailants "could gain control of critical switches and derail passenger trains, or trains loaded with lethal chemicals.

"They could contaminate the water supply in major cities," then-US Defense Secretary Leon Panetta said last October.

Foes could take down electric or water systems, fomenting public panic, reaping high death tolls and causing high physical and economic costs.

It might not even be immediately clear who was behind the attack, or where it was coming from.

This devastating power could be wielded with comparatively few operatives, or without the support of a national government.

And the massive kinetic strength of the US military would be essentially helpless in thwarting it.

For more than two decades, internet-based attacks have been relatively infrequent and mostly low level.

Now, many experts caution that the specter of cataclysmic cyber war is upon us.

Real Healthcare Reform: Doctor Stops Accepting Insurance, Lowers Prices

The decision to do away with insurance allows Ciampi to practice medicine the way he sees fit, he said.

Insurance companies no longer dictate how much he charges.

He can offer discounts to patients struggling with their medical bills.

He can make house calls.

"I'm freed up to do what I think is right for the patients," Ciampi said.

"If I'm providing them a service that they value, they can pay me, and we cut the insurance out as the middleman and cut out a lot of the expense."

Ciampi collects payment at the end of the visit, freeing him of the time and costs associated with sending bills, he said.

That time is crucial to Ciampi.

When his patients come to his office, they see him, not a physician's assistant or a nurse practitioner, he said.

"If more doctors were able to do this, that would be real health care reform," he said.

"That's when we'd see the cost of medicine truly go down."

Russia Ready For War, Orders Thousands Of Troops To Border

As has been expected since President Putin on 17 May ordered Russian military forces to "immediately move" from Local War to Regional War operational status and to be "fully prepared" to expand to Large-Scale War should either the US or EU enter into the Syrian Civil War, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MFA) is reporting today that thousands of Russian troops have been deployed in "full war mode" and that Israel is now a "major likely target" too.

According to this report, the "surprise alert exercise" Defense Minister Sergei Shoigu ordered last Thursday (24 May) for the Southern Military District involving four regiments of S-300 air defense systems troops combining 8,700 personnel, 185 warplanes and 240 armored vehicles are now positioned to enter into the Syrian War Zone "within hours" to begin offensive and defensive operations.

Even worse, this report continues, Foreign Intelligence Service (SVR) troops have likewise been ordered into the Syrian War Zone, including the much feared Zaslon Special Forces units, in order to prepare for the widening of this conflict into what could turn into World War III.

B1 Best Tick and Mosquito Repellent

[Letter from a Survival Blog reader]

I live in Tennessee where mosquitoes, chiggers, and ticks thrive.

There are two wet weather ponds near my home and if I go to my shooting range in the evening or early morning, the mosquitoes will make any quality time really miserable.

While working in the gardens and fields, one has to be constantly checking themselves for ticks.

Last year about April I read a short paragraph in Countryside Magazine from a gentleman (I believe from Maine) that has taken a Vitamin B1 tablet starting in April and takes them every day until the first killing frost in the Fall for the past 43 years.

He never gets bitten by mosquitoes, chiggers, or ticks.

I decided there was nothing to lose by trying it.

It took a couple weeks for the B1 to get through my system but from that point on through Fall I never had one mosquito bite or tick bite.

I had mosquitoes land on me (briefly), ticks crawled on me while on the range, in the woods, or in the garden, but not one bite.

I put this information out to everyone on my email list.

One of those people is a very good friend that also happens to be a doctor (M.D.).

He emailed me back to inform me that the Vitamin B1 "trick" was one of the first things that was taught in medical school.

He and I can only offer conjecture as to why this information isn't put out en mass.

I buy cheap Vitamin B1 tablets at the local big box store.

I think the price is about $4.00 for one bottle that will last one person the entire Spring/Summer insect season.

Prior to this, I was spending at least 4 times this amount of chemical sprays that were marginal at best.

Tamiflu CAUSES Deadly H7N9 Mutation

The emergence of the mutation -- which leads to a lysine for arginine switch in the neuraminidase protein -- was "temporally associated with a rebound of virus load, treatment failure, and a poor clinical outcome."

Syria Goes Hot: Russia To Deliver Weapons, Deploys Air Defense; Israel Warns Russia; Obama Demands No-Fly Zone

The proxy war in Syria just went hot, following a confluence of news, first that Russia insisted "it would deliver anti-aircraft missiles to Syria despite international criticism, as fears of spillover from the conflict grew" and in logical retaliation to yesterday's decision by Europe to lift an arms embargo to the Al Qaeda-supported, Qatari mercenaries operating in Syria, also known as "rebels."

This lead Israel's defense minister Moshe Yaalon to immediately signal that "its military is prepared to strike shipments of advanced Russian weapons to Syria."

Meanwhile back in the US "the White House has asked the Pentagon to draw up plans for a no-fly zone inside Syria that would be enforced by the U.S. and other countries such as France and Great Britain, two administration officials told The Daily Beast."

And just to make it very clear that Russia is not bluffing, it announced overnight that its four regiments of S-300 [infographic] air defense systems have been deployed at the Ashuluk firing range in southern Russia as part of another snap combat readiness check of the Russian armed forces.

"The missions will be carried out in conditions of heavy electronic warfare to test the capabilities of the air defense units to the highest limit."

Completing the ensemble is a pair of dirty old shoes that are still in perfect working order, and are rubber-soled for long-distance walking comfort on concrete (and more importantly for walking silently if need be).

US Bank Bail-In Averted Tuesday

By Jim Sinclair

The entire Western World banking system just missed the need for a bail-in by a hair's length.

The next crisis in finance in North America will be a product of the FASB, the Guardians of Auditing, allowing banks to value OTC derivative paper at whatever the bank wishes.

This is a camouflaged black hole loss unstated that Western Banking system deposits could fall into to disappear partially or wholly, made up of your deposits.

Washington made moves to override the CFTC, mandating proper valuations which the FASB has run away from.

Had the banks been required by the CFTC to value these derivatives at anything resembling a real market (there isn't any markets for the legacy OTC derivatives of 1991 to 2008), we would have had another banking crisis in the USA on Tuesday after Memorial Day.

The USA just missed another banking crisis by a hair's length.

Next time it will be closer.

If the banks had to realize the real loss in this paper, now valued way above real worth, facing that loss would vaporize the bank's entire capital, impacting the next line of financial defense which is the funds of the depositors, seriously reducing to totally wiping out your deposits.

This distance between the bail-in of Cyprus and of the entire Western financial world stands on the question of honestly valuing OTC derivatives or not lying about the value of the legacy paper banks are carrying.

This is the real PONZI of not just the century but all written history in finance.

The real number of notional value of OTC derivatives outstanding is not $700 trillion but rather over a quadrillion as it stood and was reported by the BIS printed hear before the BIS reduced the number to $700 trillion by adopting a new computer program for valuation named "Value to Maturity," a total cartoon.

We, the entire Western Financial World, are a bankruptcy just waiting to happen.

Had the CFTC implemented this regulation before it's alteration, which is in fact a cancelation, you would have been bailed-in.

Without this cancellation of this standing regulation, the USA would have had to have Bail-In Tuesday.

We Are Now One Year Away From Global Riots, Complex Systems Theorists Say

What's the number one reason we riot?

The plausible, justifiable motivations of trampled-upon humanfolk to fight back are many—poverty, oppression, disenfranchisement, etc—but the big one is more primal than any of the above.

It's hunger, plain and simple.

If there's a single factor that reliably sparks social unrest, it's food becoming too scarce or too expensive.

So argues a group of complex systems theorists in Cambridge, and it makes sense.

In a 2011 paper, researchers at the Complex Systems Institute unveiled a model that accurately explained why the waves of unrest that swept the world in 2008 and 2011 crashed when they did.

The number one determinant was soaring food prices.

Their model identified a precise threshold for global food prices that, if breached, would lead to worldwide unrest.

Today, the food price index is hovering around 213, where it has stayed for months—just beyond the tip of the identified threshold.

Low corn yield in the U.S., the world's most important producer, has helped keep prices high.

"Recent droughts in the mid-western United States threaten to cause global catastrophe," Yaneer Bar-Yam, one of the authors of the report, recently told Al Jazeera.

"When people are unable to feed themselves and their families, widespread social disruption occurs.

"We are on the verge of another crisis, the third in five years, and likely to be the worst yet, capable of causing new food riots and turmoil on a par with the Arab Spring."

Wells Dry, Fertile Plains Turn to Dust

Forty-nine years ago, Ashley Yost's grandfather sank a well deep into a half-mile square of rich Kansas farmland.

He struck an artery of water so prodigious that he could pump 1,600 gallons to the surface every minute.

Last year, Mr. Yost was coaxing just 300 gallons from the earth, and pumping up sand in order to do it.

By harvest time, the grit had robbed him of $20,000 worth of pumps and any hope of returning to the bumper harvests of years past.

"That's prime land," he said not long ago, gesturing from his pickup at the stubby remains of last year's crop.

"I've raised 294 bushels of corn an acre there before, with water and the Lord's help."

Now, he said, "it's over."

The land, known as Section 35, sits atop the High Plains Aquifer, a waterlogged jumble of sand, clay and gravel that begins beneath Wyoming and South Dakota and stretches clear to the Texas Panhandle.

The aquifer's northern reaches still hold enough water in many places to last hundreds of years.

But as one heads south, it is increasingly tapped out, drained by ever more intensive farming and, lately, by drought.

U.S. weapons system designs obtained by Chinese cyberspies

[A must-read. - c]

In January, a public version of this report stated that the Pentagon is unprepared to counter a full-scale cyber-conflict.

The list of compromised weapons designs is contained in a confidential version, and it was provided to The Washington Post.

Some of the weapons form the backbone of the Pentagon's regional missile defense for Asia, Europe and the Persian Gulf.

Stolen designs included:

The advanced Patriot missile system, known as PAC-3

An Army system for shooting down ballistic missiles, known as the Terminal High Altitude Area Defense, or THAAD

The Navy's Aegis ballistic-missile defense system

The F/A-18 fighter jet

The V-22 Osprey

The Black Hawk helicopter

The Navy's new Littoral Combat Ship, which is designed to patrol waters close to shore

[And the kicker...]

The most expensive weapons system ever built — the F-35 Joint Strike Fighter, which is on track to cost about $1.4 trillion

Saudi King Abdullah Reported 'Clinically Dead'

A Saudi journalist working for London-Based Asharq Alawsat says the Saudi monarch has been clinically dead since Wednesday.

He also quoted medical sources in Saudi Arabia as saying that the king's vital organs, including his heart, kidneys and lungs, have stopped functioning.

Doctors are said to have used a defibrillator on him several times.

He is also reported to be alive with the help of a ventilator.

What we know for sure is, the king has not recently appeared in public for quite some time, and the Crown Prince of Saudi Arabia has been speaking on his behalf.

The Royal Court of Saudi Arabia has yet to comment.

So what are the geopolitical implications of this?

It is important to note, that Saudi Arabia is arguably the world's most important supplier of oil, and the unique and complicated Saudi succession traditions have set the stage for a crisis that could destabilize the region.

With civil war in Syria, the Shia, and the events that have unfolded in Egypt and across the Middle East, it seems rebellion is in the air.

The current heir to the throne is Crown Prince Salman Bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, also the Minister of Defense of Saudi Arabia.

However, he is 77 years old, has already suffered a recent stroke and spinal surgery, and many experts agree that he is suffering from dementia.

"Problem 1: If the global economy is stalling, Europe is in recession, China is slowing and growth is seemingly impossible to generate, what are equity markets doing at all-time highs?" to

High Fructose Corn Syrup Is Causing Addiction Similar To Cocaine AND It's Made From GMO Corn

The same brain circuits are involved when people crave high fructose corn syrup as when drug addicts think about drugs.

There is significant activity in all areas of the brain, especially in the hippocampus when consuming potent sweeteners.

That region is related to learning, memory and is also related to a lot of things such as sensory and motor impulse and emotional behavior.

The stimulators also sent messages of satiety to brain circuits in the orbitofrontal cortex and striatum, which have been linked to craving and desire in cocaine addicts.

HFCS causes insulin resistance, diabetes, hypertension, increased weight gain, and not to mention is manufactured from genetically modified corn.

Increased consumption of HFCS also results in depletion of chromium in the body, which is important is helping glucose pass from the bloodstream into the cells.

According to two recent U.S. studies, almost half of tested samples of commercial high-fructose corn syrup contained mercury, which was also found in nearly a third of 55 popular brand-name food and beverage products where HFCS is the first-or second-highest labeled ingredient.

The most popular foods that have HFCS include yogurts, soft drinks, breads, frozen pizzas, cereal bars, cocktail nuts, boxed cheese pasta, sauces/salad dressings, jams, sweetened canned fruit and processed snacks.

Again, should universe cooperate by not sending big thumping earthquakes and oceanic sloshing that disrupts the infrastructure, it is our plan here at hph to establish new headquarters (universe forcing us to move, but strange new opportunity there as well, more on that after June 1), and to explore these new heuristics for invention.

Mad Max Rising

Just pick up a history book and you might learn something.

The number ONE item of value is ALWAYS food.

In Japan where money became extinct and no coins were even minted for 600 years because people no longer trusted government, the medium of exchange became a standard bag of rice.

In Spain, people are emerging from the cities and stealing food from the farms.

The politicians cannot comprehend that they are the problem.

What is next with Hollande in France?

He will confiscate all gold fillings in people's teeth following Hitler?

Their ideas are destroying civilization.

Marx is dead.

Stop this crazy idea of altering society.

The start of a Mad Max is emerging in Spain.

Suspected Plate Fracture In Cali/Oregon: Insiders Reportedly Evacuating West Coast Cities

After fifty earthquakes struck Northern California in the last 24 hours, and a massive quake in eastern Russia measuring 8.3 on the Richter scale, reports are emerging that some high profile individuals on the U.S. west coast have begun evacuating their families.

Unidentified international dignitaries have likewise been reportedly flown out of the San Francisco area.

The reasoning is that there may be a suspected massive "plate fracture" occurring off of the Oregon/California coast.

Breakup Continues on the Wilkins Ice Shelf

Just as earthquakes can sometimes leave landscapes more prone to future quakes, the breakups on the Wilkins Ice Shelf left it vulnerable to further disintegration.

In addition, the sea ice that had long pressed the shelf up against the coastline moved out, putting the remnants of the shelf in direct contact with open water.

Ocean waves went to work on the ice, and in early 2013 the fracturing continued.

Acquired March 23, 2013, this high-resolution image from the WorldView-2 satellite shows a portion of the Wilkins Ice Shelf and a large assemblage of icebergs and sea ice just off the shelf front.

Some of the iceberg surfaces give clues that they recently broke off from the shelf: many are somewhat lighter in color than the nearby sea ice, and some bear the same surface features as those seen on the shelf, including melt pond scars (which appear in pale blue).

Melt pond scars are areas where meltwater once pooled on top of the ice and then refroze.

Galaxies fed by funnels of fuel

Computer simulations of galaxies growing over billions of years have revealed a likely scenario for how they feed: a cosmic version of swirly straws.

The results show that cold gas—fuel for stars—spirals into the cores of galaxies along filaments, rapidly making its way to their "guts."

Once there, the gas is converted into new stars, and the galaxies bulk up in mass.

Cheerful Reflections on Death and Dying

Everything You Need to Know to March Against Monsanto 25-May-2013

Activists around the world are gearing up for a weekend of rallies to protest Monsanto, the biotechnology giant accused of genetically engineering agriculture and food while turning a blind eye to their potentially deadly health ramifications.

Organized by the 'March Against Monsanto' movement, an estimated 200,000 activists will participate in the massive campaign spanning six continents, 40 nations, and at least 48 US states.

Angered by the lack of action from governments on the issue, ativists in hundreds of cities –including New York, Chicago, Montreal, Berlin, Paris, Brussels, Moscow and Melbourne –will stage coordinated protests against Monsanto and demand a ban on Genetically Engineered and Genetically Modified Organisms (GE/ GMOs).

So dangerous are Monsanto's Bt toxins, scientists from the Department of Genetics and Morphology and the Institute of Biological Sciences, at the University of Brasilia, and the University of Western Ontario warned in a new study published last week that Monsanto crops are harmful to mammalian blood by damaging red blood cells and are much more toxic to mammals than previously thought.
The study was published in the Journal of Hematology and Thromboembolic Diseases.
Scientists at the United States Institute for Responsible Technology (IRT) had further warned that Indian farmers that picked or loaded Monsanto's Bt cotton reported reactions of the skin, eyes and upper respiratory tract and that 25% of sheep herds that fed on them died within a week.
On 19 May 2009, the American Academy of Environmental Medicine (AAEM) called on "Physicians to educate their patients, the medical community, and the public to avoid GM foods when possible and provide educational materials concerning GM foods and health risks."
They, also, called for a moratorium on GM foods, long-term independent studies, and labeling.
AAEM's position paper stated, "Several animal studies indicate serious health risks associated with GM food," including infertility, immune problems, accelerated aging, insulin regulation, and changes in major organs and the gastrointestinal system.
They conclude, "There is more than a casual association between GM foods and adverse health effects. There is causation," as defined by recognized scientific criteria.
"The strength of association and consistency between GM foods and disease is confirmed in several animal studies."

Holder: If he ever 'came clean' there'd be nothing left

Attorney General Eric Holder has compiled a record of deep corruption and routine lawlessness worthy of any hombre fuerte in any third world pest hole.

He even looks the part, the guy Hal Wallis would use if he couldn't get Peter Lorre.

There's something Medieval about him; the measured malevolence, the star chamber manner and, like his master, the simulated sincerity.

It's an accomplishment to be a standout lowlife in DC yet the hits just keep on a-comin'.

He's a one-man pandemic, not merely corrupt but corrupting, the inferable gravity well for crimes big and small, perhaps the first to gladly testify with a Contempt of Congress citation still in force, all while eligible for prison time under any reading of the RICO Act.

Here's his record:

Shortly after the Oklahoma City bombing, Holder instructed FBI agents to recover from Terry Nichols any remainder of the explosives the Bureau had provided him and McVeigh.

To the chagrin of Eric Holder, the explosives were later discovered by another agency, complete with the fingerprints of Nichols, McVeigh and 2 FBI agents.

Holder had reportedly offered Nichols respite from the death penalty for his cooperation in recovering the explosives. -- Western Journalism

They didn't realize Kenny Trentadue was an innocent man who looked like the man they were looking for and was NOT part of the conspiracy...

People forget, but Holder was in charge of WACO under Janet Reno.

In Fast and Furious, the ATF "walked" about 2,000 firearms into the hands of the Mexican drug cartels.

That means through straw purchasers they allowed sales to happen and didn't stop the guns from being trafficked even though they had the legal authority to do so and were fully capable of doing so.

Border Patrol Agent Brian Terry and hundreds of Mexican citizens–estimates put it around at least 300–were killed with these firearms. -- Breitbart

It's said children are a parody of their parents, if so, we're seeing a Janet Reno lampoon.

Holder practices her retroactive rule of law, it's an amazing thing to watch, the clever backfills of half-truths and omissions.

If he ever 'came clean' there'd be nothing left, he'd evaporate before our eyes, shadow and all.

He's a debit to the nation, perhaps even to Barbados if that's possible.

Ring Of Fire Earthquakes Hit Russia 8.2 And US 5.7

The US Geological Survey said the epicentre of Thursday's 8.2 quake was in the Kuril-Kamchatka arc, one of the most seismically active regions in the world.

Marina Kolomiyets, from the Russian Academy of Sciences, said it originated 375 miles under the sea bed in the Sea of Okhotsk, just off Russia's east coast and north of Japan.

A tsunami warning for the Sakhalin and the Kuril islands was issued, but lifted soon afterwards.

A second, smaller 5.7 magnitude quake also struck the US.

It hit northern California's Plumas County at 8.47pm local time and was centred six miles west of Greenville.

Sacramento television station KCRA-TV said the tremors were felt in the city, some 145 miles south of the epicentre.

Eight aftershocks ranging from 2.6 to 3.5 magnitude were also recorded.

China's H7N9 Bird Flu Goes Airborne

The H7N9 bird flu virus can be transmitted not only through close contact but by airborne exposure, a team at the University of Hong Kong found after extensive laboratory experiments.

"We also found that the virus can infect pigs, which was not previously known," said Dr Maria Zhu Huachen, a research assistant professor at HKU's School of Public Health.

It was found the virus could spread through the air, from one cage to another, albeit less efficiently.

There may be many more cases that have been detected or reported since "people may be transmitting the virus before they know they've even got it."

New Energy Source Better Than Gasoline

Tests find Rossi's E-Cat has an energy density at least 10 times higher than any conventional energy source

In the ongoing saga of Andrea Rossi's energy catalyzer (E-Cat) that promises clean, cheap power for the world, the latest events continue to bring as many questions as answers.

Several scientists have performed supposedly independent tests of two E-Cat prototypes under controlled conditions and using high-precision instrumentation.

In a paper posted at, the researchers write that, even by the most conservative of measurements, the E-Cat produces excess heat with a resulting energy density that is at least 1 order of magnitude—and possibly several—higher than any other conventional energy source, including gasoline.

Japan Stock Market Crash Leads To Global Sell Off -- AND -- Recalling Predictions By Remote Viewer Major Ed Dames

Yesterday afternoon, following the rout in the US stock market, Zero Hedge made a spurious preview of the true main event:

"So selloff in JGBs [Japanese bonds] tonight?"

We had no idea how right they would be because the second Japan opened, its bond futures market was halted on a circuit breaker as the 10 Year bond plunged to their lowest level since early 2012, hitting 1% and leading to massive Mark to Market losses for Japanese banks, as we also warned would happen.

That was just the beginning, and suddenly the realization crept in that the plunging yen at this point is not only negative for banks, but for the entire stock market, leading to what until that point was a solid up session for the Nikkei to the first rumblings of a ris-off.

Shortly thereafter we got the distraction of the Chinese Mfg PMI which dropped into contraction territory for the first time since late 2012, and which set the mood decidedly risk-offish, although the real catalyst may have been a report on copper from Goldman's Roger Yan (which Zero Hedge will cover in depth shortly) and whose implications may be stunning and devastating and may have just popped the Chinese credit bubble (oh, btw, short copper).

And then all hell broke loose, with the Nikkei first rising solidly and then something snapping loud and clear, and sending the index crashing a massive 1,143 an intraday swing of 9% high to low, leading to an over 200 pips move lower in the USDJPY, and leading to a global risk off across the world.

Remote viewer Major Ed Dames, predictor of The Kill Shot:

Nobody's looking at, in terms of economies… very few people, except the really wise economists are looking at Japan.

Because Japan's the real wild card.

Because their economy… I mean they are in 10 times more trouble than Greece, and many times more bigger, and that's the wildcard that nobody sees.

And when that goes down, it's not going to be the domino effect from Greece defaulting, and then Spain and perhaps Italy and Portugal.

Nope, what's going to take everybody by surprise is that the Japanese economy is going to virtually overnight go bad.

That's what is going to really catalyze the global economic collapse, which I predicted long ago.

Energies From Space: Lethal Superwave Coming in 2014? - G2 Cloud Predicted to Approach Twice as Close to Galactic Center

There have been new developments in the story on the G2 Cloud. [The G2 Cloud, or Local Interstellar Cloud described:]

Recent observations of the G2 cloud made in the near infrared at the Keck Observatory indicate that the cloud will reach its closest approach to the Galactic center around mid March of 2014 instead of June of this year.

Also the new findings indicate that G2′s orbit will take the cloud twice as close to the GC than previously thought.

The distance of closest approach is now predicted to be 130 AU rather than 266 AU, as previously thought.

If the star embedded in the G2 cloud is a binary system or contains a single star with orbiting planets, there is the danger that the Galactic core may tidally strip away the lower mass companion star or one or more companion planets at the time the stellar system is at orbital pericenter closest to the core.

In that case the consequences could be catastrophic.

For example, if an entire 100 jupiter mass brown dwarf were to plunge into the Galactic core in one sudden event, it is almost certain that it could jump-start the core into an active Seyfert state and generate a potentially lethal superwave.

Tuesday Humor: The Story So Far

Ex-Diplomats Report New Benghazi Whistleblowers with Info Devastating to Clinton and Obama

More whistleblowers will emerge shortly in the escalating Benghazi scandal, according to two former U.S. diplomats.

These whistleblowers, colleagues of the former diplomats, are currently securing legal counsel because they work in areas not fully protected by the Whistleblower law.

[And we all know how Obama feels about whistleblowers. How many has he tried under the Espionage Act? -]

Stevens' mission in Benghazi, they will say, was to buy back Stinger missiles from al-Qaeda groups issued to them by the State Department, not by the CIA.

Such a mission would usually be a CIA effort, but the intelligence agency had opposed the idea because of the high risk involved in arming "insurgents" with powerful weapons that endanger civilian aircraft.

Hillary Clinton still wanted to proceed because, in part, as one of the diplomats said, she wanted "to overthrow Gaddafi on the cheap."

This left Stevens in the position of having to clean up the scandalous enterprise when it became clear that the "insurgents" actually were al-Qaeda – indeed, in the view of one of the diplomats, the same group that attacked the consulate and ended up killing Stevens.

Regarding General Ham, military contacts of the diplomats tell them that AFRICOM had Special Ops "assets in place that could have come to the aid of the Benghazi consulate immediately (not in six hours)."

Ham was told by the White House not to send the aid to the trapped men, but Ham decided to disobey and did so anyway, whereupon the White House "called his deputy and had the deputy threaten to relieve Ham of his command."

The White House motivation in all this is as yet unclear, but it is known that Ham retired quietly in April 2013 as head of AFRICOM.

Obama-gate and World War III

Since the start of the Syrian conflict, Russia has sniffed Obama's lack of resolve.

But now -- with so many domestic scandals plaguing Obama -- Russia is even more emboldened to pursue its interests in Syria, and that sets the stage for an inflammable conflict.

Russia recently sold advanced Yakhont anti-ship cruise missiles to Syrian President Bashar Assad.

These missiles, outfitted with an advanced guidance system, effectively empower Syria to thwart any attempt by international forces to help Syrian rebels with a naval embargo or no-fly zone.

Upping the ante, Russia sent at least a dozen warships to its Tartus naval base in Syria, according to a Wall Street Journal report last Thursday.

Russia has also declared its intention to complete its sale of the S-300 advanced anti-aircraft missile system to Syria.

The S-300 is a state-of-the-art system that can intercept fighter jets and cruise missiles at a range of about 124 miles and would therefore -- if actually delivered to Assad -- represent a game-changer in the Middle East.

Minimum Equipment For Standard Bug-Out-Bag

Many of the articles that I have read on various web sites are, in my not so humble opinion, not adequately addressing the equipment necessary for a Bug-Out-Bag (BOB).

Having had many years of experience in the survival arena, winter and summer, in the Arctic, mountains, tropic and desert regions, many times in hostile theaters, I have drawn up a list for a BOB, along with some accompanying information.

There are variations for some of these items and the list of potential equipment and gear is nearly infinite.

However, in my considerable experience, what I have listed below has proven to work.

TWO MORE NEO ASTEROIDS DISCOVERED: 2013 KT1 & 2013 KS1 - Due 21-May-2013 & 22-May-2013

Two newly discovered near Earth objects, asteroids 2013 KT1 and 2013 KS1 will make their closest approaches to Earth on 21-May-2013 and 22-May-2013 respectively.

2013 KT1 is an Aten-class asteroid and is not predicted to intersect the Earth's orbit.

It is rated with an orbital uncertainty level of 5 (on a scale of 0-9.)

2013 KS1 (like 2013 KB) is an Apollo-class asteroid which means that it will cross the Earth's orbit.

Both 2013 KT1 and 2013 KS1 are predicted to pass within .006 AU of the Earth. (Closer than 2013 KB which is predicted to pass Earth at .008 AU.)

Also, like 2013 KB, 2013 KS1 has an orbital uncertainty rating of 8 (on a scale of 0-9) which leaves quite a bit of wiggle room as to just how close these asteroids will approach Earth.

Nasty Creatures with Dangerous Bites: Yellow Flies

Only female horse flies and deer flies (yellow flies) feed on blood.

Both flies are vicious, painful biters which feed on the blood of cattle, horses, mules, hogs, dogs, deer and other mammals, including humans.

These flies cut through the skin using razor-sharp mouthparts that are shaped like a knife or razor.

The flies will then suck the blood up from the wound for several minutes.

This process makes these flies potential mechanical vectors of such diseases as anthrax, tularemia, anaplasmosis, hog cholera, equine infectious anemia and filariasis.

Deer flies and horse flies are also suspected of transmitting Lyme disease (New England Journal of Medicine 322:1752, 1990).

The open wound left by the fly bite also permits secondary feeding sites for other nuisance insects.

Biting deer flies frequently attack humans along beaches, streams, ponds, lakes and around woods and dirt roads near large bodies of water.

Some people suffer severe lesions, high fever and even general disability when bitten.

Allergic reactions may occur from the saliva, which is poured into the wound to prevent clotting while the fly is feeding.

A person can become increasingly sensitive to repeated bites.

(If bites cause an adverse reaction, see your doctor or pharmacist. Severe allergic reactions can be potentially life-threatening. - c)

Cicadas: "The Shrimp of The Land"

Billions of bite-sized snacks are about to appear in your backyard.

After nearly two decades living under the earth, cicadas are about to shake off the dirt and invade our great outdoors.

And they'll be ripe for your feasting says Isa Betancourt, an entomologist from the Academy of Natural Sciences of Drexel University.

"It's a delicacy that's rare," says Betancourt, who's known to dine on a few bugs from time to time.

She calls cicadas "the shrimp of the land."

"They are arthropods, which means they have an exoskeleton," she said.

"We regularly eat the arthropods of the sea and those are the shrimp, lobsters and crabs. And so cicadas are arthropods too."

For the squeamish, Raupp says he has a land and sea analogy he likes to use.

"Have you ever eaten an oyster or a clam out of the bay?

"It lives on the bottom of the bay and filters, you know what (feces)," he said.

"You'd eat this thing, but would not eat this delectable insect that's been sucking on plant fat for 17 years?

"I think it's weird."

Betancourt is more pragmatic, offering this piece of advice for the cicada-eating virgins:

"Close your eyes when you're taking the bite."

Four Fireballs at Four in Last 24 Hours: American Meteor Society

In the last 24 hours the AMS has received confirmed reports about 4 unique fireball events all occurring near 4:00 AM UTC time.

The most recent event occurred in Arkansas and Missouri on May 19th near 3:37 UTC.

At the same time 3:37 UTC 4 witnesses reported a fireball in Arizona.

The distance between these two locations would inhibit witnesses from observing the same fireball from both locations.

On May 18th two large fireball meteors were also spotted within an hour of each other, one over the central east coast and another in Colorado.

[Map & table of the events in question.]

I witnessed the brightest fireball I've ever seen on 15-May-2013, from the FL panhandle. - c

US Human Depopulation Programs: A Brief History from the 1700's to Present

Population control serves the U.S. strategic, economic, and military interests at the expense of the developing Third World or Lesser Developed Countries (LDCs).

The plan claims that their population growth is detrimental and a grave threat to U.S. national security in four ways:

(1) large nations may gain political power.

(2) The U.S. and its allies need the strategic materials from those countries.

(3) A high birth rate means more young people who are more likely than older people to challenge global power structures.

(4) Population growth in relatively disadvantaged countries jeopardizes U.S. investments.

Genocidal war is about body counts – un-armed men, women and children are all total war targets to fulfill the objective of world population reduction.

However, war destroys a lot of infrastructure.

Accordingly, other methods were developed that are equally effective and might even increase profits in other service industries, also affiliated with the elite who consistently view other humans as sources of profit or commodities, even in death.

Genocide, under other pretenses, is regularly practiced to limit "excesses" in order to preserve the earth and its resources for the "fittest."

Elite-controlled governments are indifferent to the slaughter, starvation, slave labor, and suffering of others, as evidenced by a callous response from former Secretary of State Madeleine Albright when questioned about the 500,000 children who died in Iraq as a result of the U.S.-imposed sanctions.

She said, "It was worth it."

Seven foreign chem engineers caught trespassing at Boston's water reservoir

Just after Midnight Tuesday night, seven people - five men and two women - were caught trespassing at the Quabbin Reservoir.

The Quabbin is one of America's largest man made water supplies, and delivers most of Boston's drinking water.

So, no big deal, right?

It's probably just some kids who decided to sneak in and have a few beers at the water's edge.

The problem is all seven were from either Pakistan, Saudi Arabia, or Singapore.

All of them live in either Boston or New York and all of them are recent college graduates with chemical engineering degrees.

They told police they wanted to see the reservoir due to "their education and career interests."

Which, of course, means you sneak in after midnight.

MONSANTO is the owner of the black ops mercenary group BLACKWATER

A report by Jeremy Scahill in The Nation (Blackwater's Black Ops, 9/15/2010) revealed that the largest mercenary army in the world, Blackwater (now called Xe Services - pronounced Zee) clandestine intelligence services was sold to the multinational Monsanto.

Blackwater was renamed in 2009 after becoming famous in the world with numerous reports of abuses in Iraq, including massacres of civilians.

It remains the largest private contractor of the U.S. Department of State "security services," that practices state terrorism by giving the government the opportunity to deny it.

Why Obama Will Survive the Equivalent of Five “Watergate Scandals”

The one thing that will distract the country from the five present "Watergates" will be the commencement of World War Three.

If anyone doubts the veracity of these claims just ask yourself if the forces of darkness behind the Federal Reserve are going to give up their wealth and dominance without so much as a fight?

Is it worth risking WWIII?

If you are a Federal Reserve Board Governor and your safety has been assured under by your escape into nether regions of Denver International Airport, when the proverbial poop hits the fan, would you proceed forward?

Of course you would.

And if you were Obama and were facing impeachment as well as a lengthy prison term for your involvement in five Watergate type scandals, would you move forward with this agenda?

Of course you would.

Time is running out for the Petrodollar and Obama must be made to act now.

Impeachment and imprisonment or WWIII?

That is Obama's choice.

And of course how will Obama solidify his power just prior to commencing the next war to end all wars?

He will mix in the mother of all false flag attacks and he will blame Syria and/or Iran, and then institute martial law.

GMO Ambassadors: State Dept. Lobbies Abroad for Monsanto

The consumer advocacy organization, Food & Water Watch, reviewed 926 U.S. diplomatic cables produced from 2005 to 2009 and published by WikiLeaks, and found that American diplomats spent a considerable amount of time promoting genetically engineered (GE) food seeds and crops.

By 2009, 93% of soybeans and 80% of corn grown in the United States came from GE seeds patented by Monsanto.

But, except for four other countries—Brazil, Argentina, Canada and India—the rest of the world has remained relatively free from the spread of biotech seeds and crops.

Thus Monsanto sees the international market as the source of enormous potential profit, if only foreign governments would let Monsanto make inroads into their agricultural economies.

And, in a major example of corporate welfare, the State Department has marshaled its resources to lobby for Monsanto.
